Reading in the time of coronavirus
Dear friends,
What a strange and unknowable time. So many of my friends are seeing their amazing book tours and events get cancelled, and I'm feeling lucky that I got to see so many of you in person. But writers and bookstores are hurting right now, and maybe you need some things to read while you self-quarantine?
Now would be an amazing time to pick up the audiobook of The Third Rainbow Girl (they let me read it myself!). If you buy from Libro.fm, your money goes straight to the independent bookstore of your choice -- needed income for small businesses in these dark times.
Other books that need your love that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND:
--"Minor Feelings" by Cathy Park Hong (Maggie Nelson for Asian American identity)
--"Temporary" by Hilary Leichter (joyful surreal novel about late stage capitalism)
--"Later" by Paul Lisicky (nonfiction about queer male life in PTown during the AIDS crisis)
--pre-order "Take Me Apart" by Sara Sligar (complicated noir archivist novel)
Yours in isolation & reading,
Emma
