Words of Revolution; Words of Solace
I never get tired of words. Just when I think I am, I read something and then I'm buoyed up once again, or confused, or ticked off.
Blue Stoop, the nonprofit home for writers and literary life I run in Philadelphia, is offering a virtual event this Saturday night 12/5 called WORDS OF REVOLUTION; WORDS OF SOLACE. It will be a special program, an innovative visual experience created by award winning cinematographer Aly Spengler, NOT a zoom event, and it will be 10 writers we love offering words on revolution or solace--god knows we need both. You can buy your tax deductible ticket here.
These featured readers are international stars and local Philadelphia heroes who have been nominated for the Booker Prize, started national conversations on diversity & inclusion in publishing, won public office in Pennsylvania, served as poet laureate for Philadelphia, translated gay erotic manga, and much more. Make a night of it & come hang out.
Finally, thanks so much to all who have already reached out, but I'm DEE-lighted to share that The Third Rainbow Girl was named one of the New York Times' Notable Books of 2020.
hope you're finding some will to revolt & some places of solace <3

P.S. Penn State Creamery ships their ice cream as gifts for the holidays
P.P.S. I'm listening to Stephen King's classic CARRIE on audiobook and having a lot of feelings. Why does Chris Hargensen do it? I guess we'll never know
P.P.P.S. I have a limited number of openings for one on one manuscript consultations this winter. Reply here or DM me on social for more info
