I agree, there is much confusion about what a plot is and it can create resistance around the whole subject of plot, which is actually fascinating. As you have demonstrated here so well. I just read The Anthropologists, which is a perfect book to read to consider what plot might be in a broad definition. Can't wait for Part Two.

i absolutely was wondering what was going to happen in both the pisces and audition lol

totally! But are the incidents where the meaning come from/how the book centrally functions? Not really I don’t think. Audition seems more to me about how the book revises itself from part one to two, The Pisces is like, what is this lady UP TO/will she be ok?

I loved this because those books you listed (where it’s not about what is going to happen) are my favorite kinds of books. I still dont know what plot is lol but I sort of feel like it’s none of my business
