I love this list! I totally felt the same about The Coin and LOL’d at your subhed (fat phobic for literally no reason). I did really enjoy Piglet though
Say Nothing!! in the spirit of this post, I vote it MOST LIKELY TO MAKE YOU WANNA BURN SHIT DOWN WHILE ALSO BEING EXTREMELY WATCHABLE (Thr acting! Good god, the acting)
I'm also adding a bunch of these to my TBR--some for fun and some for research for my own novel. Thank you! And thank you for upsetting the status quo with book lists. I'm excited to think about my own reading next year and think on what my superlatives are.
This list = another reason to be an Emma Copley Eisenberg fan. I signed up for this substack because of the great name (Frump Feelings) and only later learned that Emma founded one of my "beacon in the storm" organizations: Blue Stoop (writing classes, events, free sessions, etc.)! They are holding an auction, and a session with Emma to discuss your literary career is one of the prizes. Sadly, I was outbid! https://givebutter.com/c/bluestoop/auction Go Emma!
POV has been one of the most fun and also most challenging things to play with as I experiment with fiction (the possibilities!!), so I just ordered Hot Springs Drive—thank you! (And love this reframing of The List.)
Added 80 percent of these to my TBR
hehe honored!
SAME
Also love the format and want to steal it
I love this superlative approach, it helps us understand why they matter. And wow do I need a residency—have fun!
Truly! And hehe yes Yaddo was so needed hope you get that time too v soon
Oooh I want to read Pig by Sam Sac based off the superlative and your description!
It's really good!
Love, love, love this format! Just put almost all of these books on my TBR.
